How Long is the AFC Bournemouth Season Ticket Waiting List?

One of the main questions football fans have regarding a brand new season is how long the waiting list for their club will be. When it comes to AFC Bournemouth, the situation is slightly more complicated than that.

In this blog post, we are going to be discussing the ins and outs of AFC Bournemouth’s season tickets and will give you all the information you need to get your tickets for the future!

Why Are Bournemouth Season Tickets Different?

The major reason why the Bournemouth season ticket waiting list is such a unique circumstance is because there isn’t actually a waiting list, but not for the reasons you may think.

In 2014, Bournemouth stopped allocating new season tickets as a whole, making it difficult for new fans to buy season tickets for quite some time. But why would Bournemouth need to do this?

Why Did AFC Bournemouth Stop Selling Season Tickets?

There are a number of reasons why Bournemouth decided to stop selling season tickets. Their issues started in 2013 when they achieved promotion into the Championship, and the following season went straight into the Premier League.

The summer of 2013 brought in a record 4,000 season ticket sales which sounds excellent, but issues arose when they clinched promotion to the top flight as this meant that much of the stadium was still paying League One prices to attend Premier League matches.

When the club realised this, they decided to take action and try to reduce the number of season ticket holders in the stands, favouring other ticket buyers so that they could sustain themselves financially. Since Bournemouth have one of the smallest stadiums in the league, it was important to act fast and this has sustained the club ever since.

Cost of Bournemouth Season Tickets for 2024/25

While it may be difficult for some fans to get their hands on a Bournemouth season ticket, they are still available should you wish to try to purchase one. For this reason, it is important that you are aware of the different price points for the 2024/25 season.

These prices have been rising for the last couple of years as they cemented their place as a main-stay in the Premier League. The first came in 2023 when the club announced a price rise of just under 10% across all categories.

Most recently, in the summer of 2024, the club increased prices even higher with another 6.5% increase for most categories of season ticket holders.

Upcoming Stadium Changes

With the most recent price increases, there could be further inflation in the coming years as Bournemouth look to relocate to a brand new stadium by 2027/28.

The new stadium will be located nearby the old ground and will be able to accommodate over 18,000 people.

This move may be a great opportunity for new season tickets to be put up for sale for more fans, however will most likely also include a price increase for already existing season ticket holders.
