Road to the Qatar World Cup 2022
During the World Cup Qualifiers, Ecuador gained 7 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses. Being able to score 27 goals whilst conceding 19 goals - resulted in a goal difference of 8 goals. The qualifiers saw 10 teams in the group with teams such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Making for a really tough qualification period for the World Cup.
Ecuador’s most substantial victory came against Bolivia in which they won 3-0. Enner Valencia and Michaell Estrada were the goal scorers in the game. One game that should have seen Ecuador finish above Uruguay was their game against El Salvador which ultimately finished 1-1.
Time will tell how far Ecuador will go in this years’ World Cup, however, one thing is certain - they will be eager to progress as far as possible with Gustavo Alfaro at the helm.

Ecuador have a whole host of hungry, young talent at their disposal. With the likes of Gonzalo Plata and Piero Hincapie. Both winger and centre-back respectively will be eager to make their mark in this years’ World Cup competition and announce themselves on one of the biggest stages in all of sports.

Currently, Enner Valencia is the top scorer for Ecuador and is the captain of the international side. Having played for a multitude of teams around the world - Valencia has been able to identify various playing styles that have allowed him to adapt to various situations.

With the likes of Hernan Galindez, Alexander Dominguez and Pedro Ortiz. Ecuador is able to choose from three top goalkeepers who have amassed a wealth of experience throughout their careers thus far.
