Road To Euro 2016

Northern Ireland debut at this summer's European Championships after topping qualification group F. Northern Ireland's astonishing performance in the qualifiers saw them beat off competition fromRomania, Hungary and Finland who finished the group 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

Northern Ireland won 6 games in qualification, sealing top spot with a 1-1 draw in Finland on 11 October 2015. Kyle Lafferty was the star man for Northern Ireland in group F, scoring 7 goals on his way to being the top scorer in the group.

A late Kyle Lafferty goal was enough to give Northern Ireland a 2-1 win over Hungary in Budapest on matchday one. The Northern Irish then followed it their victory with a 2-0 triumph over the Faroe Islands where Lafferty was again on the scoresheet.

Nothern Ireland made it three wins out of three with an impressive 2-0 victory in Greece with a familar name on the scoresheet once more as Lafferty claimed his third goal in as many games to maintain his country's winning start.

However, in their fourth game a 2-0 defeat to Romania halted their progress and ended their 100% winning record. Michael O'Neill's men responded with a 2-1 victory at Windsor Park as Kyle Lafferty's double kept his country top of Group F.

Two draws against Romania and Hungary followed to set up a tense finale to the qualifying stages as the race for qualification between Northern Ireland, Romania and Hungary reached its climax. If Northern Ireland avoided defeat they would top the group and a 1-1 draw against Finland in Helsinki was enough to send Northern Ireland to their first eber European championship as Group F champions.

Northern Ireland have waited a long time to be part of the action at a major European tournament and we expect the Northern Irish to turn out in their droves when Northern Ireland kick off their first game at France Euro 2016. Northern Ireland Euro 2016 Fixtures

Poland v Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland will be weary of their opponents goal scoring threat but will no doubt be buoyed by their travelling green and white army, who will be attending in their thousands to witness their European Championship debut match. Having topped Group F in qualifying, there is plenty of scope for optimistic thinking. This is a really challenging match for Northern Ireland, however they will be after a winning start with three points on the board early on. Northern Ireland were bottom seeds and so were always going to get a tough draw. Nevertheless they made it to France after a superb qualifying campaign and will be of course giving it everything they have got. You can be at this match in France this summer with from Football Ticket Pad.

Ukraine v Northern Ireland

Ukraine v Northern Ireland is a crucial tie for both teams in their ambitions to reach the tournament's knockout phase. Playing in a tough group containing reigning world champions Germany and a formidable Polish side, this head to head may well decide who ends up third, a spot which can still lead to progression.

Despite this being their tournament debut, Northern Ireland topped group F in qualifying and have an experienced captain to rely on in Steven Davies. Ukrainian hopes are centered around seasoned striker Yevhen Seleznyovwho has been in the squad since 2008. One thing's for sure, this one is tough to call.

This looks like a must win game for both these sides in order to progress, with the other two teams in the group being very strong. Fans can enjoy a great selection of tickets for this game at a great price so get your from the industries best!

Northern Ireland v Germany

Northern Ireland have an opponent that will really test their mettle in Germany. The reigning World Champions are ruthless tournament specialists and adept at bringing unprepared sides to their knees, which gives the Irish all the more reason to do his homework. Michael O'Neill's men will not want to be relying on thier final group stage fixture to get a result to seal qualification.

Kyle Lafferty has been instrumental in qualifying and they will hope his goals, along with Shane Long can help fire their side to the knockout stages. However, in Germany they face formidable opposition with the likes of Thomas Muller, Mario Gotzeand Mesut Ozil to keep quiet.

Despite this Northern Ireland will take heart from Germany's patchy form in the qualifying rounds, where Scotland made them work very hard for the wins and the Republic of Ireland came away victors in Dublin. The Green and White Army will of course be in full voice and a memorable match awaits.

During the qualification campaign the other half of Ireland (The Republic) met Germany in their group. Northern Ireland can take great hope into the game as Germany lost and drew in qualification with the Republic.

Northern Ireland will fancy themselves as being

better than their rivals so will believe they can win this game. They will need the backing of the fans however so don't hesitate to book from Football Ticket Pad.

Key Players

Key Player

Steven Davis. In a team that centres on a strong work ethic and having no real star players, it is the Southampton midfielder whose contribution often goes unnoticed. Davis has been a stalwart in the Southampton side this year and has built a reputation in the Premier League over a number of years as a diminutive, hard working midfielder, who often goes about his business without claiming the plaudits that he deserves. His Premier League experience makes him a vital player for Republic of Ireland and he was a fundamental part of their success in qualifying. Republic of Ireland have a very tough task ahead of them if they are to qualify from the group, however in football anything can happen and the Green Armyhave proved themselves on the big stage before.

The Goals

Kyle Lafferty was immense in qualifying and scored a very impressive seven goals. The tall forward has a chequered history at club level and after a few disappointing stints at clubs including Norwich City, FC Sion and Palermo. However, he will be keen to use this tournament to prove that he can cut it at the top level and continue his rise on the international stage. His strike partner, Shane Long will also be a threat and he has showed in thePremier League at Southampton that he is a natural goal scorer who can cause some of the world's best defenders problems with his pace and deadly finishing. If Lafferty and Long can continue to find the back of the net, the Republic of Ireland may cause an upset at.

One to watch out for

Robbie Brady The former Manchester United graduate who now plays for Norwich Cityis deadly from a set-piece and his delivery will hold the key if Republic of Ireland are to spring a shock on their Group Ecounterparts. Brady can operate anywhere down the left hand side as a full-back or winger and if given the chance he will cause teams plenty of problems. With this set to be one of the biggest events in the Republic of Ireland's calander. are sure to sell out fast, be sure to get yours while they are still available.

Young starlet

Paddy McNair. The Manchester United man was thrown into the media spotlight when a defensive crisis at United meant that he had to start a run of games for the Red Devils. Praised for his performances in those matches, McNair was tipped for big things by Louis Van Gaal. Comfortable at both centre half and right back this could be a tournament where he further establishes himself as a top class defender in France at**.**
