In order to qualify for the Qatar World Cup tournament, the USA were tasked to contend with 7 other teams including Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, El Salvador and Honduras.

The USA were able to qualify for The World Cup, but it was far from an easy ride. The deciding factor for the USA was their goal difference of 11 compared to Costa Rica’s 5.
