Road To Qatar World Cup 2022
This will mark Belgium’s 14th appearance in a World Cup tournament, and their journey to appear in the Qatar 2022 World Cup was a fairly easy one, to say the least. Having the highest goal difference of 19 whilst scoring 25 goals and conceding only 6. The attacking display and defensive prowess of the Belgium international side have been truly remarkable. Especially when you take into consideration the second-best stats throughout the qualifying games has been Wales amassing 14 goals scored and 9 conceded - with a goal difference of 5. Belgium has been truly dominant throughout the qualification games.
Belgium’s most dominant game came during the third game of the qualifiers against Belarus. Belgium integrated an attacking 3-4-3 formation and it paid off with a comfortable 8-0 victory. Successful goal scorers included Batshuayi, Benteke, Praet, Trasasrd and Vanaken.
Throughout the 8-0 win, Belgium displayed some incredible accurate passing resulting in a 90% pass accuracy from 725 passes compared to Belarus’ 344 passes and 78% pass accuracy. This showed that the effective communication provided by understanding and execution of the plan paid off well.
Throughout the qualifying matches, Belgium also picked up some impressive wins against Wales and Czech Republic, finishing at 3-1 and 3-0 respectively. It will be interesting to see how Belgium will maintain this level of dominance throughout the Qatar World Cup and if they have what it takes to reach the final and perhaps lift the trophy itself.

Belgium has one of, if not the best midfield players in world football. Since joining Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne has shown himself to be one of the most creative midfield players in world football. Possessing an unbelievable ability to accurate cross the ball to a teammate's feet from anywhere on the pitch - under any situation. Whilst also having the ability to generate an unbelievable amount of power with his shots, Kevin is undoubtedly one of Belgium’s most important players in the Qatar World Cup.
Since 2010, Kevin has gained 88 caps for Belgium whilst contributing 23 goals. At Wolfsberg, Kevin De Bruyne was a star talent. However, it was undoubtedly his move to Manchester City where he truly showed and continues to show his potential. A clinical striker
With the ability and accuracy of Kevin De Bruyne - you need a top striker to be able to get on the end of a cross. Luckily for Belgium, they have Romelu Lukaku. Regardless of the club, Lukaku plays for, he always proves to be able to impact the outcome of a game.
Lukaku currently has 101 caps for Belgium and has scored 68 goals. For an international striker - this is quite some feat as it demonstrates Lukaku’s clinical nature. For Belgium to progress in this tournament, they will need to be clinical when their chances come up. With Lukaku being at the end of most of the chances, you can imagine Belgium to be clinical. Dominant Down The Left
Regardless of recent season’s, on his day Eden Hazard can provide magical moments. At his time at Chelsea, Hazard was considered to be one of the best winger’s in world football. Despite his numbers dwindling in recent years for Real Madrid, when he plays for Belgium he more often than not makes magic happen.
While playing for Belgium, Eden Hazard currently has 116 caps and 33 games. His contributions down the left side are more than his goals, however. Hazard creates space for those around him, resulting in him quickly releasing the ball to another play and getting in-between the opposition lines.
