Road To The Qatar World Cup 2022
The South American section of the World Cup qualification serves as the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Qualifications began on the 8th of October 2021 and will end on the 29th of March 2022. At the time of writing, Argentina has secured qualification through the CONMEBOL by remaining undefeated. Currently managing an impressive 10 wins and 5 draws across 15 of their games.
During the CONMEBOL qualification process, the structure has 10 national teams who need to play each other twice for both home and away matches. This can be considered to be a similar layout to the qualification process for the Champions League.
The teams who participate in the CONMEBOL qualification process are the following: Uruguay, Columbia, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Ecuador. South American fans are eager to see where their national side will finish at the end of this qualification stage in hopes to see their team compete in the Qatar World Cup.
Argentina’s most dominant performance came during a 3-0 win in October against Uraguay. Having most recently rode the success of winning the 2021 Copa America Final, beating Brazil 1-0 - Argentina will want to taste success once again - and what stage will be bigger to do so than The World Cup?
